CNO Network Administrator (Senior)

DESCRIPTION


Currently, Pillar Global Solutions is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented CNO Network Administrator to join our team in the Stafford, VA area to provide support on a federal Program. The Program is a high-profile, high-visibility, cybersecurity modernization and risk management program where you can contribute innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Interface with customers to collect and clarify requirements

  • Manage network communications testing, installation, and support, including LAN/MAN/WAN system

  • Work alongside and provide assistance to other networking team members

  • Create and implement router and switch configurations

  • Identify and diagnose problems affecting network performance using software and hardware tools

  • Provide recommendations to enhance and improve network performance

  • Troubleshoot network systems as needed

  • Perform a broad spectrum of system engineering, integration, and implementation tasks and activities, including personnel, hardware, software, facilities, and/or equipment

  • Interface with vendors to address problem escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance

  • Provide routing network facility test and analysis, including power, software, communications, machinery, lines, modems, and terminals

  • Maintain a complex range of computer network components and systems

  • Utilizes monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to trouble shoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity

  • Devises solutions to complex operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment

  • Executes contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages.

  • Leads test, train, and exercise events in:

    • Build, configure, deploy, and assist customer engineers with exercise virtualization solutions on Service catalog items, to include: VMware ESXI with vCenter management, and KVM based Cypherpath loaded on a CSR infrastructure

    • Build, configure, deploy, integrate, and assist customers with physical and virtual OSI layer 1,2, and 3 technologies

    • Build, configure, deploy, integrate, and assist customers with layer 1,2, and 3 network anlaysis and monitoring tools

    • Build, configure, deploy, integrate, and assist customer engineers with Linux Redhat, Centos. Fedora, Kali, and Ubuntu network assets in physical and virtual environments

    • Build, configure, deploy, and assist customer engineers with IA tools and software in physical and virtual exercise environments

  • Applying appropriate patch levels and hardening of security to Systems and Networking assets to maintain STIG and IA customer requirements of machines in exercise environments

  • Maintaining exercise data files and monitors system configurations to ensure environment, network, and data integrity

  • Interfacing one on one with Government customers and engineers to pull engineering requirements and to meet milestones on accepted exercise environment delivery

  • Assist customers on site during test, train, or exercise events in helpdesk capacities during hosted events

  • Assigned other technical duties as needed to meet operational exercise and matrixes technical personnel needs of the DOD Cyber Security Range, Marine Corps Cyber Security Range, and customer projects

  • Assists junior network engineers and works as support for senior network engineers on Cyber Security Range missions

  • Trains junior network engineers

Mandatory Requirements:


  • Requires BS degree (in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field)

  • Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI

  • Cisco CCNA (R&S or Security) certification, DoD 8570 IAT level II compliant

  • Experience with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio

  • Experience with military or DoD networks

  • Ability to travel in CONUS up to 25% annually

  • Experience with Firewalls / Encryptors: Cisco ASA; Sourcefire; Imperva Secure Sphere; Palo ALto 5000; McAfee NGFW; Juniper SRX and SG; Fortinet FortiGate; PfSense; KG-175D

  • Knowledge of and experience with Layer 2 Technologies: STP, VLANs, PVLANs

  • Knowledge of and experience with Layer 3 Technologies: Routing protocols (EIGRP, ISIS, OSPF, RIPv2, BGP)

  • Knowledge of and experience with First Hop Redundancy Protocols (FHRP): HSRP, VRRP, and GLBP

  • Knowledge of and experience with VPN technologies: MPLS (Layer 2 & 3), GRE, IPSEC

  • Knowledge of and experience with Data Center technologies: Fabricpath, VDC, vPC, OTV, vxLAN, Nexus 7k, 5k, 2k, 1000v; B22-Dell; Fabric interconnects (6200UP), MDS (9000), UCS B & C Series; VMware NSX

  • Knowledge of and experience with Storage technologies and capabilities: FC, FCoE, VSANs, WWNN, WWPN
